Comment from Ken Tew:

Child Care for ESL classes at Christ the King Reformed Church

Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30.

Colonial HC would love to partner with other Region 3 house churches to meet this need.  We have been doing it for a couple of months now and it has been a blessing to each one of us.  However, we are starting to set that meeting this need through just our house church is a bit much.  If a total of 3 house churches could rotate months, then families would serve once a quarter.  Even just one other house church would make a huge difference.

More about the class:

Christ the King Reformed Church offers ESL classes to refugees in the area.  The families are from Nepal, Rwanda and others.  The church there takes care of all the logistics, our responsibility is just to man the child care.  It takes 2-3 adults each night to cover the class.  It is basically just a time to hang out with the kids and play with them.

Yes Katie, we would like the link and login. Bethany and Cana run our kids’ program and while they are creative, every week they feel like they are reinventing the wheel!

Jeremy-

Those are not my requirements.  They come from admin.  And they will most likely never have to do either of those things.  No opposition to women here. :)  Our video producer is a woman and she is awesome!

Comment from Jim Oelgoetz:

1. Name: Jim Oelgoetz
2. Started attending Apex: Aug 2010
3. I was impressed with so many areas of worship at Apex – authentic worship, come as you are, don’t “dress up”, God cares what’s in our hearts, not the clothes we wear. Beautiful music ministry and the people who lead it. The pastor’s wisdom and willingness to be led by God, to confess to the flock, and sincere desire to be a servant of God. Absence of ritual: more spontaneity of prayer, agenda, worship. Not answering to a bishop and the politics of other “organized” denominations—too much power in the church has corrupted it and shut off it’s direct line to God; simple doctrine with holy scripture as the core teaching for our lives. Not passing the traditional collection plate. I can go on and on. I truly believe God landed me at Apex after my my wife, Anna and I moved to Kettering last year. Stay humble Rob (I know it’s hard sometimes) and you’ll continue to be an amazing disciple and shepherd for Christ!

Apex Community

Apex is actually a network of dozens of small community churches, organized into geographic regions, which meet in our members’ homes throughout the Miami Valley area. We call these small community churches, house churches… and our entire purpose is to be and make disciples of Jesus Christ.
